Over the past 10 years I have sampled, studied and immersed myself in many healing modalities.
YOGA & AYURVEDA
I became a 200 hour Certified Hatha Yoga Teacher in 2010 and in the next several years taught in an array of non-traditional community spaces - a neighborhood non-profit arts center, an LGBT youth homeless shelter, an inpatient psychiatric facility and at Bryn Mawr College. I completed initial yoga training in Classical Hatha Yoga and Ayurveda in Philadelphia and then gained specific certifications in Restorative Yoga, Trauma-Sensitive Yoga with Yoga Activist and Gentle and Adaptive Yoga for Healing at the Integral Yoga Institute in San Francisco. In 2016 I completed training in Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy with the San Francisco Yoga Therapy Center / Shiva Shakti Loka and am currently completing this certification.
Inspired by sound, I studied Vedic Chanting and Hatha Yoga in Chennai, India at the school of Krishnamacharya, a powerful yoga therapy master and pioneer. In 2015, I completed a 9 month certificate program at the California Institute of Integral Studies in Sound, Voice and Music in the Healing Arts.
ENERGY & BODYWORK
I have culminated training as a Reiki Master from several inspiring teachers and have completed Level I and II of Ayurvedic Bodywork at Shiva Shakti Loka. I am captivated by this healing art and continue to apprentice and study towards further certification. Currently I am in a 500 hour certified massage therapist training program.
Additionally I work at UCSF Medical Center as a Medical Clinical Social Worker certified through the Board of Oncology Social Work with inpatient hematology oncology patients. I provide psych-social support and also lead yoga, pranayama, meditation and sound healing, drumming and watercolor painting groups. I received the title of Meditation, Yoga and Sound Specialist for an initiative to implement daily alternative treatment activities for hospitalized hematology oncology patients, and created the Bedside Wellness Program to share these modalities for patients unable to leave their hospital room.
With great respect and love.
